The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (Icam) and Sycamore Consult recently partnered up to conduct an online training for non finance managers from 13 private companies, aimed at equipping managers regardless of their profession on fundamental aspects of finance and accounting.

Icam Chief Executive Officer, Francis Chinjoka Gondwe, touted the training, stating that managers that are not in accounting fields, have challenges to understand accounts yet their decisions are impacted by the accounts. “By training them in key accounting matters they are better placed to make sound decisions that will enhance the viability of their organisation,” Gondwe said. On the other hand, Sycamore Consult Business Development Manager, Mwai Makwakwa, revealed that the managers were trained in accounting basics, analysing accounting reports, preparing budgets, and more.

Sycamore consult is a consulting firm registered in Malawi in 2017, with an objective to provide expert business and project solutions to Government, Private Sector & Non- Governmental Organizations.
