Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Rejoice Shumba, confirmed that the South African Government has deported 150 Malawians who were living in that country without proper documentation.
Also according to Shumba, 350 more Malawians are expected to arrive in the country from Lindela Holding Facility in the Rainbow Nation, as an ongoing process undertaken by the Republic of South Africa. Living is SA without valid documents to secure employment, the Malawians, mostly between the ages of 18 to 40 arrived after being deported by the South African Government.
In September this year, Malawians, Zimbabweans and Nigerians suffered xenophobic attacks by South Africa nationals who blamed foreigners for taking up jobs meant for locals as well as selling illegal substance such as drugs.
