A statement released by the ministry of agriculture has outlined the recommended minimum farm gate prices for the 2018/2019 farming season.

Figures from the ministry of agriculture says maize will be sold at the minimum cost of K150 per Kilogram, up from last years’ K120. Polished rice is at K550 per Kilogram whilst unpolished is selling at K250 per Kilogram, Sunflower K310 Kilogram while cotton grade A is at K375 per Kilogram and Grade B is at K300 per Kilogram.

The statement has also warned sternly against buyers that will offer prices lower than enlisted in the statement by the ministry. Meanwhile all traders that are interested in buying farm produce, are urged to obtain licenses from its offices.
