Auction Holdings Limited has dismissed an ad that was placed on the newspaper that said Chinkhoma and Mzuzu Auction floors were up for sale by tender.

The ad raised questions for Malawian citizens, especially tobacco farmers whose means of leaving are the floors themselves. In a statement issued by AHL, the company assures its farmers and foreign markets that Malawi depends on tobacco sales, therefore the floors would never be up for sale.

The ad seemed to have been placed due to unresolved internal issues; whatever the case was, farmers are now at ease as the floors are still operational and ready for the next selling season.
