According to figures in a trading update released this week, Revenue for Airtel Africa, went up by 9.9%, at $ 2,522 million for the fiscal period ending 31 December 2019.
Airtel Africa Chief Executive Officer, Raghunath Mandava, outlined that revenue growth accelerated in the third quarter to 14.2%, attributed to improved performance in the Rest of Africa, supported by solid results in Nigeria and East Africa. “Today I am pleased to announce another set of strong results which further demonstrate our on-going ability to deliver against the opportunities offered by the markets in which we operate.” he said.
On the other hand, Airtel Malawi offered 2.2 billion shares on sale to Malawians, as the offer ended on January 31, 2020. Airtel Malawi entered the local stock market, encouraging its subscribers to buy the shares on its platform, Airtel Money.
