Airtel Malawi News : AIRTEL MONEY DONATES PORTABLE DIALYSIS MACHINE TO KCH
Airtel Money, with funds from the Airtel Money Trust, has donated a high tech portable dialysis machine and defibrillator machine to Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe on Monday 7th October. The portable dialysis machine is a first of its kind portable dialysis machine that will support patients in urgent need of dialysis who due to the critical nature of their illness/condition, cannot be moved to the dialysis unit.
The donation follows a similar corporate social responsibility called ‘Touching Lives’ which is running under the same Trust, and has seen computers being donated in community colleges around Malawi.
With the high-tech machine, patients will undergo dialysis from anywhere in the hospital, as the dialysis machine will be easily moved to wherever the patients are. Apart from this donation, some of the activities that have been implemented (and are still being rolled out) under the Airtel Money Touching Lives program this year are the donation of double seater desks and reusable sanitary kits to targeted 16 primary schools and painting of zebra crossings and a planned donation of medical equipment to targeted maternity wards from 28 public health centres across the country.
