Airtel Malawi has announced of 10 more areas that have the 4G network. Having launched the initiative in January 2018, the network initially covered Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuz only.

Now 4G is available in the following areas

Chinkhoma

Chimwaza

Chimbaya

Chamama

Chatama

Chatomola

Chezi

Chigamba

Chigwilizano

Chilooka

During the launch last year, the then Minister of Information and Communications Technology Nicholas Dausi said the launching of the 4G by Airtel is a milestone given government’s vision of extending information and communication technologies to the people. “Let me take this opportunity to extend my congratulations to Airtel Malawi for catching up with trending global standards of mobile technology and  adding the 4G layer to their network infrastructure,” said Dausi.
