Airtel Malawi had promised to expand its network to remote areas, boldly promising to erect 80 network towers across Malawi. Keeping its word, the telecoms company has revealed to launch a network site at Chizumulu Island in Likoma district.

Airtel’s Managing Director Charles Kamoto announced the development being the first of its kind on the Malawi, as the first consignment of equipment is already in action, with a completion date expected to be in April.

According to Kamoto, Airtel has already launched over 50 brand new network sites since April last year.
