In the continuation of the Airtel Money’s Trust Fund initiative, Airtel Malawi has donated 10 computers to Mangochi Community College. Airtel Money Marketing Manager Tione Kafumbu, attributed the donation as a support for Government’s efforts in the promotion of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in community colleges.

The college has 184 students who have been amidst challenges of accessing ICT. As the computers will ease the burden, Kafumbu decried the lack of internet access at the college. He also added that this was a common case in the prior colleges which have received the donation. “From the schools which we have visited the common challenge is that students are having difficulties in accessing information. So these computers will enable them to access information much easier.”

Mangochi Technical College Principal, Mbasa Mwawembe, commended Airtel for the  donation of the computers to the College. Mwawembe expressed that the donation demonstrates the true meaning of corporate social responsibility and added that the donation will also ease teaching.
