The Asian Muslim Relief Aid visited Ntaja in Machinga, where relief packs were distributed to flood victims which is a program that AMRA is undertaking.
According to AMRA member Ahmed Sunka, 4000 families were assisted with a relief pack each. “Each relief pack consists of basic food items, utensils, sheets and cash” explained Sunka.
Sunka added that the affected were grateful for the relief packs, as the packs helped to restore their lives. “A lot of people were affected, so they are joyful for the relief that AMRA has brought them with a swift response”
AMRA has a planned to distribute 15000 relief packs worth K450 million; this program is currently focusing on the eastern region as many organizations are active in the lower shire and Phalombe/Mulanje areas.
