The Maravi Asian Development Association (MADA) recently met with the Principal Investment Promotion Officer (PIPO) of the Zomba City Council (ZCC), to discuss licenses.
As the Business Licenses Act indicates that Foreign Owned Businesses get their license from the Ministry of Trade, MADA proposed that ZCC consider a two-tier fee structure on the Premises License in that the holders of a license from the Ministry of Trade be considered for a reduced fee.
On the other hand, The Principal Investment Promotion Officer (PIPO), Mr Maurice Banda, commended the formation of MADA, describing the organization as a formal channel
through which ZCC can engage with the Asian business community. According to a statement by the organization, the meeting concluded with MADA inviting ZCC to have a meeting with the community to share experiences and ideas on how to work together towards improving the City of Zomba.
Maravi Asian Development Association (MADA) is a duly registered membership-based organisation that represents minority businesses.
