Bankers Association Of Malawi (BAM) has launched its corporate executive business breakfast, remarking that it will be an annual event.
The breakfast addressed challenges that banks are facing, especially the lack of understanding when it comes to technological changes. In a statement released by BAM Chief Executive Officer Violet Santhe said the banking sector should not be held back by ‘archaic leadership policies’ and philosophies that are not in sync with the modern world.
Statistics have shown that by 2020, 67% of the millennials will be looking for a new job. That demographic is highly knowledgeable in technology while people born between 1946 to 1964 are in denial of the changing times.
At the event, South-African leadership expert Alex Granger remarked that accepting the new wave of technology is important for corporate leadership.
