Kalibu Academy in Blantyre has addressed the bed bugs that have been discovered at the school’s hostels, as a notice by the school’s director confirms that almost all boy’s hostels and some of the boys hostels are infested with the bugs.
“The Academy fumigates hostels every holiday at least two weeks before the school commences. Despite the unfortunate presence of bed bugs, our hostels are fumigated against pests and insects at the beginning of each term. Two weeks into the last term of this academic year bed bugs were discovered in three boy’s hostels despite the hostels undergoing thorough fumigation during the holidays. These bed bugs are coming from home.” says the statement.
The notice, signed by the academy’s Director, Rev M.T Howard, has advised parents to ensure that their children’s wards/belongings are sterilized, including bags and beddings. “We will also do the needful as a school” says the notice.
