The Blantyre Water Board Management (BWB) has released a notice of a two-day water interruption from Thursday 25th July to Friday 26th July 2019. According to the notice, the interruption is due to maintenance works on BWB’s main transmission line between Walker Ferry Pumping Station and Chileka Pumping Station.
“In order to allow for the repairs to be carried out, pumping at Walker Ferry will be reduced to 50%, a situation which will result in low pressure that will cause many areas to receive little or no water at all” says part of the notice.
Following the resolve, BWB has advised that customers must draw and store enough water for the said days. Also, customers are strictly advised to close all taps to avoid flooding when water is back.
