It has been revealed that the entrepreneurs are subjected to abuse at border posts by customs and immigration officials who demand bribes to allow the traders to pass.
The above problem concerning cross border trade, along with other problems facing the trade, was discussed at the Cross Border Traders Association’s workshop in Lilongwe.
The Board urged the government to act on the matter, along with the lack of cheap capital which is attributed to the failure of growth of some cross border businesses.
The workshops marks a spectacular step into bringing practical solutions faced by cross border traders, which will inspire other traders to demand for a better business climate.
