Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) was praised by a delegation from the Competition Authority of Botswana that was in the country to appreciate how Malawi is performing on consumer protection laws, to which the Botswanans said they were impressed.
The delegation also met officials from the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority, Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority and Consumer Association of Malawi, among others.
CFTC Director of Consumer Affairs and Education, Lewis Kulisewa, said the commission was delighted with their Botswana counterparts’ remarks.
CFTC has been keen on enforcing consumer protection laws, as recently, bogus seed traders were called out by the firm.
