Addressing the consistent water outage, the Blantyre Water Board has announced that maintenance works are ‘almost complete’.
In a released statement, BWB says that a high-pressure pipe that was vandalized is being fixed. The statement also says the pump is now able to pump 50%. The statement reads “ It is expected that some customers will start receiving water this afternoon
from around 3:00 p.m. At the moment, the Board has intensified pumping at Mudi Treatment Plant to mitigate the water shortage.”
Blantyre has endured the unavailability of tap water for the past 3 days and should the released statement keep its words, residents will appreciate the efforts by the water board.
