A statement by NBS bank has announced that a partnership has been established with the Northern Region and Southern Region water boards, as the development will see customers purchase prepaid water tokens from the two utility companies.
The initiative occurs amidst the coronavirus pandemic, as people are urged to stay at home and practice social distancing, while digital means of payment have been prioritized as means to avoid contact of cash and possibly infected individuals. Following suit, NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer, Kwanele Ngwenya, outlined that customers will not have to spend hours on queues waiting to buy prepaid water tokens. Therefore, transacting through EazyMobile 322 offers service users a secure, trusted and safe mode of payment,” reads the statement.
NBS Bank recently donated various personal protective equipment (PPEs) for Blantyre Health Office (DHO) health workers presented by Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking, Alfred Nhlema. Nhlema attributed the donation to the bank being a responsible corporate citizen, which took part in supporting the fight against the pandemic, while revealing that more will be done.
