Standard bank’s Visa debit card is also a means for Malawians to shop online (e-commerce), putting all desired commodities from the outside world at the customers fingertips.

The customer can purchase from any online outlet that has VISA, after signing up as a user on the particular online merchant’s web page. Upon obtaining desired items/commodities, the user can check out, fill in the 16 digit card number and and CVV number then await for payment confirmation.

It is strongly advised that when signing up to an online merchant’s web page, they should use a password/PIN that is strong enough to deter hackers, at the same time the password/PIN must be easy to remember.

The development has had its due praise, considering that now, customers can now pay for items or services that were once deemed unreachable or hard to reach.
