On Monday 23rd November, President Lazarus Chakwera will sign public sector reform performance contracts with cabinet ministers, a move aimed at promoting accountability and responsiveness.
A statement from the Office of the Vice President and Public Sector Reforms has outlined that the signing ceremony will be followed by quarterly progress reviews through a credible monitoring and evaluation framework to sustain momentum in the implementation of the reforms agenda.
“It is highly expected that the signing of the performance agreement contracts will inculcate a culture of accountability and responsiveness in the public sector.” says part of the statement. Prior to the development, Vice President and Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Saulos Chilima interacted with leaders of all parastatals, as part of the public sector reforms agenda.
