Consumers Association of Malawi (Cama) has asked the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (Mera) to be open on information related to fuel price market trends as Cama Executive Director, John Katipo, said Mera was too technical when disseminating information to the public.
“They (Mera) believe that what they have as press releases would be able to answer issues that people are talking about. We have noted that sometimes they do release press statements that are even too technical” he said.
Kapito also urged journalists to be conversant with the petroleum products pricing mechanism, to which he observed, confuses consumers.
