Blantyre City Council has raised concern over the dumping of of waste chemicals into Mudi River; an action that Castel Malawi has been accused of.

The countries major rivers are being polluted by various industries and out of fear of destroying the environment, the environmental sector has made attempts to control pollution in these rivers. The city council has received reports of chemical waste being dumped into the river, as signs show that the river water is changing color.

Castel could not be reached, citing the unavailability of there persons responsible for comment. Blantyre City Council has warned that such a habit will lead to the closure of business.
