A concerned has been raised, reporting incidents of robberies that are occurring, whereby intruders are entering people’s residences upon arrival of owners vehicle. The incidents are happening between 7pm and 9pm, as the intruders await the arrival of a vehicle to access gate entry. An advisory circular advises residents in Nyambadwe/Chapima heights and Limbe/Mpingwe areas, to be alert of their residences.

The circluar reads, “Please ensure that lighting to your driveways is clear and you can see in the drains and flowers (if heavily with flowers recommend to be removed)”. The circular has also alerted that during entry of vehicles, residents should be cautious of people that are on foot.

The circular’s intention is only to raise awareness or security and not start any disputes. Overall, there is need for neighborhoods to discuss maintenance of streetlights, especially raising queries to the city council, concerning street lighting. It should be noted that the said neighborhoods are persevering poor or no street lighting.
