The Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) has been queried for alleged injustice, abuse of power, unfair treatment and unreasonable, unfair and unjust discharge of duty by any public office or public officer.
According to a letter by Ombudsman Martha Chizuma, CMST CMST Chief Executive Officer Feston Kaupa has also been victimising staff through unfair dismissal. The Ombudsman’s letter letter reads in part; “My Office is in receipt of a complaint which makes allegations of irregular and nepotistic recruitments of staff and also unfair dismissal of other staff by yourself as the Chief Executive Officer of Central Medical Stores Trust”.
Chizuma has also been receiving complaints from members of staff from Blantyre Water Board, accusing their former CEO Daniel Chaweza of similar charges. In response, Chaweza asked the Ombudsman for the names of the employees that accused him.
