Right after Chilewe Brands announced about acquiring a license from the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the company announced a partnership with South African Rapper AKA, who will be handling the brand and products direction for the company.
The strides announced above are for the company’s snack foods called Naks, which are notable by WWE enthusiasts, having faces of various wrestlers on the packs of Naks, in various flavors. Last year Chilewe Brands acquired a license from WWE, to brand Naks with WWE wrestlers. The same agreement was for another puff ringed snack product called Champion Cheese and Chives.
The partnership with AKA has been hailed, as the bigger picture of the development is to give the product a broader reach, as AKA is an influential musical figure with a huge fan base.
Mike Chilewe Jnr, owner of Chilewe brands, had been selected by the Tony Elumelu foundation 2018 program; an entrepreneurship mentorship program that also granted $5,000 to its selected list. 1000 entrepreneurs across Africa were selected for the program. Mike Chilewe is Malawian Entrepreneur whose company is based in South Africa.
