Chipiku Plus in Kasungu town is among some shops that are in flames, due to a fire that broke out around 2:30-3:30pm today (22 March 2019).

It is reported that the only fire truck that is assigned to the district has not been functioning for a long time now.

Meanwhile Kasungu settlers have confirmed that the district relies on a firetruck from Lilongwe, which is currently on its way as there is no other means to put out the flames, not to mention that the cause of the fire is unknown at the moment.
