ActionAid held a capacity-building workshop on tax justice at Jenda in Mzimba, where interaction with the attendees revealed complaints of abuse of public resources.

Some of the problems addressed were failure to access schools and markets, which has been attributed to lack of implementation by responsible authorities who do not commit to the cause.

ActionAid has therefore implemented a tax justice campaign project, with a $50m budget, aimed at empowering communities to take part in monitoring public finance management.
