Malawi Airlines has released a statement to clarify the cancellation of Flight ET21 from Johannesburg to Lilongwe via Blantyre on Saturday, 19 December 2020.
Signed by Malawi Airlines’ Senior Public Relations Officer, Joseph Josiah, the statement outlines that the flight was canceled due to a cracked side windshield. Following the incident, the aircraft was grounded at O.R Tambo International Airport, for the replacement of the broken windshield. The Airline provided accommodation for the flight’s passengers, then the flight resumed the following morning.
“The general traveling public is advised to always check with the airline for official information and desist from spreading fake news.” said part of the statement.
