The department of climate change and meteorological services has foreseen severe weather conditions from 5th to the 7th of March, citing deep low pressure from Mozambique, which has affected the east of Nsanje Boma, therefore heavy rains and strong wins are expected in Malawi.
The department, under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining, has warned the rains and winds could cause flash floods in prone areas and destroy houses.
Precautionary measures advised bu the department include moving to higher grounds, avoid crossing flooding rivers and lastly, avoid seeking shelter under trees and weak infrastructures.
