The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) Competition Commission presented a donation of $5 000 (about K3. 7 million) to the Malawi Government for Covid-19 response.
During the donation, the commission’s chief executive officer George Lipimile urged the ministry of trade to push for or fair trading for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19)-related products and services. The call follows after the Competition for Fair Trading Commission also warned against pharmacies overcharging Covid-19 items.
Malawi has so far registered 41 confirmed cases, 9 recoveries and 3 deaths. Worldwide, as of 9:23AM today, there are 3.66 million, 1.2 million and 3 deaths.
