The Common Market for Eastern and Central Africa (Comesa) has warned that since the demand for exports likely to fall globally, countries that are dependent on exports will suffer.
A statement by Comesa Secretary General Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe outlines that reduced imports of manufactured products, input supplies, travel restrictions and foreign direct inflows (FDI) are likely to inhibit growth and development, among the member States.
The statement also outlines that the tourism sector may suffer as well, as firms will see lowered bookings for meetings, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions. The foreseen situation has derived from the Corona Virus outbreak which
