The Chief Executive Officer of CDH Investment Bank, Mischeck Esau, has been released upon his arrest concerning the food ration procurement case. The Chief Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has given the head nod to the CEO’s release, whilst blaming the Anti-Corruption Bureau for dispossessing the apprehended party’s mobile phones without following procedures.
Chief resident magistrate Violet Chipao stated that there was no search warrant that was applied for nor granted, so upon ordering the return of the mobile phones to the owner, she rejected the State’s request to hold on to the phones.
Mischeck Esau is therefore out on bail, with a condition that he should appear to ACB offices once every year.
