President Lazarus Chakwera announced new Covid-19 measures effective April 23, which will see the curfew extended from 9pm to midnight, while public gatherings are now limited to 100 indoor and 250 outdoor.
Among other developments in the new measures, public transport capacity will increase to 75% to 50%, while shops and restaurants will close at 10pm.
Malawi first registered its first case of the pandemic on April 2 2020, and as of date there have been 33,968 total cases, 1,142 deaths and 31,810.
