Dedza has been undergoing lectures on Financial Literacy, courtesy of the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM). Dedza District Executive Committee (DEC) has its members learn in vernacular language, enlightening them on financial responsibility.

The Chief Examiner of Financial Literacy, Margaret Chamba, stressed the importance of the lectures, especially teaching them on further use of mobile money transactions. “

Present at the lectures was Senior Chief Kachere who applauded RBM for the initiative. The lectures come as a resolution following a census conducted by the African Economic Research Consortium (Aerc) that revealed high levels of financial illiteracy.
