The construction of bus depots and markets in Thyolo and Chiradzulu districts has been commissioned by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Ben Phiri as the minister hailed the projects as means to improve economic activities of people of the two districts.

Present at the groundbreaking in Chiradzulu was the Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Joseph Mwanamvekha, who is also Chiradzulu South legislator, outlined that the traders face challenges especially during the rainy season, hence the development will be helpful.

According to Mwanamvekha, the market and bus depot in Chiradzulu will be completed within four months, while it was also confirmed that Mphanje Market and bus depot in Thyolo, said the project will be completed before the end of this year.
