The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has commissioned the Malawi Mangoes dry mango factory in Salima. Malawi Mangoes, a manufacturer and exporter of Mango products, is going to sell the dry mangoes in local mainstream supermarkets as well as export to India and other countries.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Frank Kasaira, commended the new factory as a means to provide employment, therefore minimizing poverty. True enough, the factory’s General Manager, Charlie Leaper, revealed plans to employ 300 more people to help process the dry mangoes at the factory.
The dried mangoes will be listed as Malawi’s home made food byproducts.
