Ecama has been actively engaging Malawian citizens in various meetings, such as the Budget Analysis Workshop in May this year, where various stakeholders were present. Examining the pros and cons of the 2018/19 budget, it was revealed that prevailing macroeconomic stability and resumption of Extended Credit Facility Program (ECF) would be key in the successful implementation of the budget. However, it was also addressed that negative weather shocks and power outages, among others, would be factors curbing the budget implementation.
This year’s conference will give the best of business and economic insight, having the following officials presenting at the conference; Mr. John Robson Kamanga (CEO of Malawi Stock Exchange), Mr. Clement Kumbeba (CEO of Malawi Investment and Trade Centre) and Alka Bhatia, (UNDP Economic Advisor) just to mention a few.
