Electricity Generation Company (Egenco) has announced that there has been an improvement in power supply, citing consistent rainfall and other factors.

The press release reveals that rehabilitation of the respective power stations in Nkula A and Lilongwe A have led to the improvement of power supply. Consistent rains have enabled the Hydropower stations to generate 230MW which has reduced load shedding during the week; so says the press release.

Prior to this announcement, Escom was in negotiations to tap power from Chipata, Zambia
