The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi has announced of a load shedding program that will run from the 13th of July to 15th July on Monday.
In a notice by Escom Management, the power outage is because the firm is unable to satisfy all of its customers, due to one of its power stations that needs maintenance. According to the notice, the load shedding schedule will be in unison with maintenance works of the power station that has not been named. “Egenco is carrying out maintenance works at one of its power stations” says the notice.
The schedule has split customers into 6 groups, which will each be affected for 6 hours, from 5am to 11pm, 10am to 16pm and 15pm to 21pm, respectively. Customers are urged to visit escom.mw for details on the schedule, or check the newspapers.
