According to the Government’s crop estimates, yields this year will improve not only on maize and rice, but Millet, Sorghum, Groundnuts and cotton.
According to Figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, cotton yields will be up 106.8%, groundnuts 4.5%, sorghum 3.0%, Millet 8.9%, Rice 9.8% and Maize 8.8%.
The first round of 2019/2020 crop estimates also show that Wheat production will be lower due to seed unavailability and lack of better markets.
