The European Union in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (Icam) is on an initiative that is training accounting students from various colleges in Malawi.
Part of the initiative was organizing debates on entrepreneurial skills for students in Mzuzu. This follows after the same initiative was taken at Soche Technical College in Limbe, Blantyre.
EU Program Manager for Public Financial Management Janet Mortoo said the two firms wasn’t to promote accountability, transparency and integrity among accountants. Icam Director of Education and Training, Ruth Mdala, believed that the initiative will be producing students who would be able to survive in the job market.
