Green Friday has begun with a massive turnout at Blantyre’s TNM offices as more than a 100 people are waiting to buy smart phones at a 50% discount.
The line has started from the sidewalk to the shop, a control measure that has been enforced by PMF officials at the shop. The office was scheduled to open at 8:00am, with the shop being open for business at the same time; when Biznews was interviewing the customers, the office was open but customers were shut outside while the shop prepares. 2 hours later, the loyal customers wait outside, chanting various statements that showed leaving was not an option.
Excited and grateful for the promotion, the customers who are currently leaving the premises have said they will be back later to purchase their dream phones. “I am excited about green Friday” says Caleb Thulambo, a customer amidst the promotion commotion, “I have been here since 7:15am and I’m here until the shop opens”. He patiently waits as other customers share the same comments as his.
