According to the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu, the e-ticketing initiative will be launched during the forthcoming season.
Nyamilandu outlined that the first phase of implementation will involve entail rolling out the system at Mpira and Chilomoni stadia in Blantyre, which are owned by the association.
Last year, FAM announced an e-ticket solution where each ticket will be validated on entry into the stadium using hand-held scanners. The development has been hailed as a means of curbing fraud on cash collections on gates. “It is time that the clubs made more money from gate revenue to become self sufficient,” said Nyamilandu.
