FDH Bank plc has donated K2 million to Friends of Embangweni Mission Hospital in Mzimba, as the funds are aimed at buying personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline health workers amidst the coronavirus Covid-19.
FDH Bank plc head of personal and business banking Kawawa Msapato attributed the donation to supporting the group’s cause as the group seeks funds for the acquisition of PPE. Representing members of the group, Mary Mbewa thanked the bank for the donation, while calling on more well wishers to give towards the goal of K4 million for the same cause.
“The need is big and we are still short of K2 million, which we will still be soliciting.” said Mbewa, “The hospital gets funds from missionaries and some of our counterparts who were supporting us have died because of the disease. This is a huge challenge for us.”
