Towards supporting the annual lake conference, FDH Bank gave K1.5 million to Institute of Bankers (IoB) three-day conference that will start on August 29 at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi District, themed ‘Financial Sector Synergies: A Catalyst for Financial Inclusion Reloaded’.
FDH Head of Personal and Business Banking, Kawawa Msapato, said keen interest in financial inclusion as its business strategy points at inclusive banking for all Malawians.
IoB Chief Executive Officer, Lyness Nkungula, said that this year’s theme was chosen considerating of the fact that there is still room for growth in the country’s financial sector. “I need to commend the banks because most of them have lower end products that are without frills mainly to cater for people that are financially excluded but are engaging in economic activities that earn them something,” Nkungula said.
In just the first half of 2019, FDH Bank has posted a K3.35 billion after-tax profit in the year under review that ended on June 30 2019. During the same period last year, the bank made K1.34 billion, translating to a 153% profit increase.
