FDH Bank has set aside K500 million to empower and promote women to fulfill their full business potential by providing access to working capital.
A statement by the banks Management, released on International Women’s Day, has attributed the fund to the 558,090 women who own micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), according to a 2019 Finscope Survey that outlined the women face difficulties in accessing formal credit.
Reads the statement in part “To that end, FDH Bank plc has created “FDH Amayi Atakate Fund” …to support the women owned MSMEs in Malawi to realise their full grown potential.”
An FDH Amayi Atakate Loan, is a special loan facility under the fund designed to address access to affordable credit for women.
