Chambo fisheries can produce 800 tonnes of fish per annum.
Chambo fisheries was started by pacific limited in 2006. Due to it redefining aquaculture in Malawi there were many difficulties faced by the company that now have been conquered.
Pacific limited had set out to supply the deficit of fish in Malawi. Due to decrease in harvest from the lake in recent years.
Chambo fisheries is a farm that involves the whole process of aquaculture farming from pairing the brood fish to incubation, nursery, production, purging the fish aswell as producing the feed and rotifers for the fish.
The production day schedule of the fish is 168 days from yolk sac (end of incubation) due to many tanks and planned systems chambo fisheries has fresh fish available every day throughout the year.

Chambo fisheries has initiated a entrupreniship program relating to its product. 105 local Malawians who were unemployed or on the streets begging have now become businessmen/women. These entrprenuers are now roaming many areas of Blantyre with cooler boxes selling fish and earning a steady income for their families and homes.
Chambo fishiers encourages the nation to support the hard work of these entrepreneurs’s and buy fish from them when seen on the streets.
Chambo fisheries has plans to initiate more farms in Lilongwe and chickwawa very soon.
Chambo fisheries has an aim of providing fresh fish to every Malawian. Therefore, till it does not occur every city they have no intentions of export.
We would like to serve our nation with fish then serve the rest of the world.
It is a shame that with half our country being a lake we are still importing fish. Malawi can supply its need of fish through fishermen and local companies, importing products that are available in Malawi such as fish in affecting the economy. Malawi is known for its fish across the globe.
