Following up on what had caused the fire last night at Sunbird Mount Soche around 18:30-19:00Hrs,Biznews inquired from Sunbird Group Sales and Marketing Manager Temwa Kanjadza, on what had caused the fire.

She explained that the hotel’s boiler chimney was discharging some sparks and fumes, to which the fire department was alerted and before the situation got worse. “Business has not been interrupted and remains 100% normal; no injuries or damages occurred.” said Kanjadza.

Thanks to Blantyre City Council’s timely response, the fire brigade approached swiftly to rescue the 50 year old Mount Soche that has hosted guests from all over the world.
