First Capital Bank (FCB) has introduced WhatsApp banking service where customers can do all transactions on the app, an initiative implemented for customer’s convenience.
Speaking during the launch of the service, FCB Chief Executive Officer Jaco Viljoen said the idea was birthed after the bank realised that many customers are using phones these days through WhatsApp. “So, we want to make it easy for them to transact with the bank,” he said.
To use the facility, customers are required to first register online. Using the facility, the clients can send and receive money, buy electricity units, top-up airtime and send money to mobile money operators among other things. This product extends to customers who do not have FCB accounts.
