Micro-Loan Foundation set aside a K10 million loan for flood victims in Phalombe and Lower Shire districts; as part of its corporate social responsibility, Micro-Loan Foundation has written off the loans.
According to Micro-Loan Foundation Chief Operations Manager Joseph Kaipa told Malawi News Agency (Mana) that the loan catered for 850 households that were affected by floods.
“As an organisation, we save people. Therefore, when our clients are in trouble then we are supposed to come in and see how best we can take them out” said Kaipa. He, however, warned his officers against collecting the loans which have been written off saying they will be dismissed and then face the law.
